Clear Communications Inc and Larse Corp have announced a marketing and development agreement to deliver what they are calling the most comprehensive wide-area network management system available for private high-speed T1 1.544Mbps networks the US version of British Telecom’s faster 2.048Mbps MegaStream digital network service. The agreement calls for Clear Communications to package its Clearview Surveillance System software with the Larse family of intelligent TNDS CSUs Channel Service Units – and Integra-T network management software. Both companies will market the bundled network management system, which is designed to give private network managers an on-line, real-time information management facility for monitoring the performance of all the T1 links in their wide-area networks from a central location. Larse Corp is a producer of telecommunications network equipment and systems, particularly Channel Service Units, used in wide-area networks to perform network-wide T1 diagnostics and collect performance information, including the industry-standard ESF (Extended Superframe Format) performance data. The Santa Clara, California company also supplies the Integra-T network management system that enables network operators to isolate problems from a central location. Clear Communications is a telecommunications systems company based in Chicago and also involved in wide-area network management. The Clearview Surveillance System is a decision support system designed to make it easier for managers to keep an eye on carrier perf-ormance in wide-area digital networks, using a multi-tasking workstation – no word on which but it sounds like an Apple Macintosh or a Sun Microsystems machine and a point-and-click user inter face.
