Classical music lovers everywhere will be able to study back catalogues of the BMG Classic record label when Classics World CD Store goes on-line. The index will cover 1,500 current releases searchable by composer, artist or catalogue. BMG Classics includes RCA Victor Red Seal, RCA Victor Gold Seal, Living Stereo and Deutsche Harmonia Mundi labels, with recording artists ranging from James Galway and Richard Stoltzman to Arturo Toscanini, Mario Lanza (classical?) and Vladimir Horowitz. The Web pages also include biographies, sound clips and touring schedules of around 80 musicians and profiles of around 110 composers. A multi-media section features audio and film clips of classical performances. There is also a section covering the history of various music genres including an opera section that includes a potted history of all those operas you’ve wanted to see and never gotten around to. Classics World also has an interactive bulletin board that covers Opera, Classical and contemporary music. The service is courtesy of New York service providers OnRamp Inc and can be found at www.classicalmus.com.
