Silicon Graphics Inc has beaten off a class action suit alleging fraud by the former MIPS Computer Systems Inc: Judge Ronald Whyte of the US District Court for Northern California issued a summary judgment that ended the case, which focused on MIPS’ revenue recognition policies related to technology licensing transactions; the case was filed in March 1992 and it has cost the company millions of dollars.
