A valley start-up called Clarity expects to break cover in August with add-on services it’s developing for use with ERP applications such as SAP and Baan. We figure it will be Java- based middleware as its founders are drawn from publish-and- subscribe shop Tibco Inc and defunct middleware shop Open Horizon Inc. The secretive Clarity has already gotten itself angel funding on the back of its ERP convictions – ERP is a pot of gold most of the industry seems to covet at the moment – and has its head down and hands dirty with code. It’s nearly up to 100,000 lines. It says its software will be good news for companies spending fortunes on expensive ERP consultants as it is claimed to trim configuration and customization time. It’s looking at a suite of three products and claims no-one else is doing anything similar.
