Apple Computer Inc’s applications software spin-out Claris Corp in Mountain View, California is ready with a completely new word processing package to succeed MacWrite, according to MacWeek magazine. Code-named Moonraker and tipped for launch as soon as February, the forthcoming program is said to include typographical controls, multiple on-screen columns, a built-in spelling checker, and support for manipulation of several documents at once. The second program to be developed in-house by Claris after ClarisCAD, the product is expected to cost between $200 and $300.
