Apple Computer Inc’s Claris Corp has launched a new cross- platform productivity package which the company says will enable users to create everything they need to use in the office environment. Targeted at the home office, small business and education sectors ClarisWorks Office includes the company’s new ClarisWorks 5.0 with a customizable button bar, Internet enabling and enhanced Hypertext Mark-up Language translation which enables immediate productivity on the desk top or the Web. The package runs on Windows 95, Windows NT and Mac OS platforms and includes 175 customizable ClarisWorks documents including newsletter layouts, financial worksheets, database presentations and Web templates. The package will ship in the UK next month and will sell for 100 pounds. Existing ClarisWorks users can upgrade to ClarisWorks Office for half that.
