Claris also announced that it was shipping Claris CAD two dimensional computer-aided design package, combining the Macintosh graphic interface with design and drafting tools at $800. The company also announced MacDraw II 1.1, adding a Slide Manager, spelling checker and notes feature to the screen drawing program. Out next month, it is $400, $30 to upgrade from II 1.0, $200 to upgrade from MacDraw. And MacWrite II is described as a new generation of the original Macintosh word processing program with more than 50 new features, and claimed to run three to five times faster, with the spell checker running up to 10 times faster. It will be out in the US late February at $250, or $65 to MacWrite II users, $75 to users of other Mac word processors.
