Citrix Systems Inc has done twice in a row now, reporting another great quarter in which net income soared 129% to $8.3m on revenue up 158% at $24.5m. The $0.29 per share Citrix posted beat the First Call consensus by $0.05. The company says the results are buoyed by the wave of thin client/server computing and the emergence of ICA as a standard for distributing Windows applications to thin clients. Citrix now claims 500,000 licenses for its ICA technology. Sales of the WinFrame product line remained strong and WinFrame 1.7 is due to ship in the third quarter. Last week Citrix struck a sales and marketing agreement with 3Com Corp to integrate WinFrame with US Robotics’ Edge Server (CI No 3,206). Six-month net income rose 144% to $15.8m on revenue up 167% at $46m. Earnings per share rose 107% to $0.29 for the quarter, and 120% to $0.55 for the six months.
