Citrix Systems Inc has added streaming video and audio support to its MetaFrame product line with VideoFrame, so that NT 4.0 users can transmit audio and video content to thin clients. Videos are streamed to the desktop using adaptive bandwidth technology and centralized bandwidth management, so that client systems don’t need to have high levels of storage. Citrix says it expects the technology to be used in such applications as sales presentations, training and company messaging. 32-bit Windows clients are currently supported. Pricing is $4,000 for 200 concurrent streams.
