Citrix makes a grab at the E-Signature market

The firm acquires electronic signature startup RightSignature.

Citrix has boosted its presence in the area of e-signatures after agreeing to acquire electronic signature firm RightSignature for an undisclosed amount.

The company, which last month acquired virtualisation firm Virtual, plans to target verticals such as accounting, financial services and insurance by adding the startup’s e-signing service to its platform.

RightSignature, founded in 2009 and which competes against DocuSign and Adobe’s Echosign, provides online document tools, some of which have been part of Citrix’s ShareFile file sharing service for the last year.

"Our customers’ most important documents are often those that require signatures," said Citrix’s general manger of Documents Cloud Jesse Lipson.

"With the acquisition of RightSignature, we advance our leadership in enabling and simplifying workflows that are core to our customers’ businesses. From document creation to execution, Citrix empowers you to swiftly take care of business whenever and wherever."

RightSignature’s team will also join Citrix as part of the deal.

"We started with a simple idea: to enable easy online document signing," RightSignature’s CEO Daryl Bernstein said.
