Citizen Watch Co Ltd has now applied its miniaturisation skills to create what it claims is the smallest and lightest printer in the world, obscurely saying it is about the size of a rolled newspaper. The PN60 will cost under $500 but is claimed to offer the same print quality as an office laser printer, printing at two pages a minute. It measures 10 by 1.8 by 2 and weighs 1 lb 3 oz and is compatible with MS-DOS and Windows notebooks and Macintosh PowerBooks. Citizen plans to produce 10,000 of the printers per month. The printer can run off any voltage via its universal AC adaptor or by an external battery, which fully charged can print up to 50 sheets.
