CITIZEN EUROPE HOPES FOR BIG SALES OF 20MB 3.5″ DIRVE

By CBR Staff Writer

Citizen Europe Ltd is hoping to make a big splash with its parent company’s 20Mb 3.5 floppy disk drive, which also reads and writes 1.44Mb and 720Kb disks (CI No 1,442): the London-based subsidiary says that the majority of local manufacturers of lap-top computers want to use the thing in their machines when it becomes available in September; Citizen sees the drive retailing for about UKP200, a price that will fall as volumes are ramped up, and says it will build a plant to make it on the continent if European demand justifies it.
