Citibank and Indonesian telecommunications provider, Telkomsel, have launched the new Citi Mobile-Thin Client offering for mobile banking services.
The service is available to Citibank customers who use GPRS, EDGE and/or 3G-enabled mobile phones and devices. Citi Mobile-Thin Client can be downloaded to mobile phones by visiting Citibank’s website.
Citi Mobile-Thin Client is claimed to allow customers to browse, transact a number of services and access information.
Rudy Hamdani, e-business head at Citibank Indonesia, said: Citibank customers are very mobile and our new products and solutions are designed to meet their lifestyle and business needs. The Citi Mobile-Thin Client is a good example of this. It is essentially a mini-version of the Citibank website, specially designed for mobile phone users.
The site has been adapted for the screen of a mobile phone and clients can access Citibank’s credit card services and even apply for a credit card via their phone. They can also access account information and other banking services and transaction capabilities will be added in the near future.
