The company announced the 510 and 565 Content Engine devices for branch office deployments, and the 7305 and 7325 Content Engine devices for large branch or data center deployments.

The appliances will support ACNS 5.0, which promises support for multiple streaming media formats, as well as integration with storage area networks. The forthcoming software will also have a new web-enabled roles-based centralized management console.

Cisco is also releasing a package of systems for recommended video-on-demand deployments. The package will include video capture, content authoring and management and deployment guidelines, and will be available from Cisco partners in April.
