Charles Giancarlo said the company’s M&A temperature feels about the same, according to Reuters. Giancarlo was speaking at the annual Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York.
If history’s a guide, about the same, Giancarlo said in response to a question about Cisco’s buying plans for this year.
So far, Cisco this year has bought Utah Street Networks, which developed software for online social networks, and Five Across, another collaboration software maker. Giancarlo said business and consumer collaboration was an area Cisco would aggressively pursue. He added that Cisco was not planning to set up its own social network for consumers.
