Cisco has unveiled a new enhancement to its Saas based Cisco WebEx collaborative applications. The company intends to extend Cloud into the enterprise network infrastructure through Cisco WebEx Collaboration Cloud and the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers.
The company also introduced Cisco WebEx Node for ASR 1000 Series, based on the Cisco ASR 1000 Series aggregation services routing platforms. It, reportedly, helps reducing bandwidth requirements and enhances video and voice over IP (VoIP) performance.
WebEx Collaboration Cloud hosts around 200,000 WebEx meetings every day, including CiscoWebEx Connect collaboration sessions, using eight Cisco-powered global datacentres. Upgrades to CiscoWebEx Meeting Centre, Cisco WebEx Training Centre, Cisco WebEx Event Centre and CiscoWebEx Support Centre, are delivered through WebEx Collaboration Cloud.
WebEx Collaboration Cloud utilises routing based on location, bandwidth and availability to provide global load balancing and global backup for data, audio and video for collaborative applications including conferencing, instant messaging and team spaces. Cisco also made five new additions to its comprehensive security portfolio that strengthens the main components of network security infrastructure.
