Cisco buys VoIP provisioning developer

Cisco Systems Inc has bought the IP and other assets of Digital Fairway Corp, a developer of VoIP provisioning systems, for $15.25m in cash.

By CBR Staff Writer

Toronto, Canada-based Digital Fairway will become part of Cisco’s Network Management Technology Group.

Digital Fairway’s IP Telephony Provisioner will form the foundation of Cisco’s IP Communications Provisioning Manager, a new product for enterprises that is slated for release next year, Cisco said.

The upcoming product promises fast enterprise-wide VoIP deployment by simplifying and automating operations through workflow-based unified provisioning. It also will support change management using a database of record, Cisco said.
