The Business Edition 6000S (BE6000S) collaboration platform has been launched by Cisco, following demand for a "no-compromises" collaboration solution for midsized companies.

Built into an integrated Cisco router, the BE6000S delivers essential voice, video and collaboration capabilities for customers with as few as 25 users.

The BE6000S enables customers to recieve collaboration capabilities built into a Cisco 2921 Integrated Services Router (ISR), giving them Cisco’s routing, security, wireless and collaboration services in a single box.

Easy to install, the BE6000S features tools such as simple management wizards that reduce the cost of ownership for companies with small IT staff.

For those midsize organisations experiencing growth, Cisco also offers an easy migration path to higher capacity Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) platforms.

The BE6000S is expected to be available globally in early 2015.

Pat Romzek, Vice President, Collaboration Sales, Cisco commented: "When Cisco talks about no-compromises collaboration, we mean we are lowering the complexity of collaboration without compromising on features and capabilities, providing the best user experience possible.

"Collaboration technology can be a major catalyst for growth for midsized companies. Cisco today is underlining our commitment to provide the midmarket with feature-rich, collaboration technology that is right-sized for the right price, giving customers the best in class technology regardless of their size."

Mario Séguin, Director, Medwave Optique commented: "The midmarket represents a major opportunity for our business, and today’s announcements from Cisco will enable us to be even more successful in this market.

"Our midmarket customers rely on us to provide high quality products and comprehensive support to help their IT staff; by using new offers like the Config to Order Portal we’ll be able to deliver more collaboration more quickly, strengthening our relationship with the customer and improving our bottom line."
