Cisco introduces new collaboration capabilities

Users can move from one collaboration application to the next based on their work and task

By CBR Staff Writer

Cisco has introduced new, advanced collaboration capabilities, ranging from new desktop and mobile Cisco Jabber collaboration applications to Cisco TelePresence systems.

The new capabilities will enable users to move from one collaboration application to the next based on their work and task.

The company is extending Cisco Jabber to iPad and Windows and is also expanding the integration between Jabber and TelePresence.

New capabilities also include TelePresence TX9000 Series, a new three-screen immersive TelePresence platform that combines the enhanced TelePresence experience with advanced collaboration and content sharing capabilities.

TX9000 integrates with Cisco WebEx, enabling One-Touch simplicity for scheduling and starting WebEx and TelePresence integrated meetings with future capabilities to support adding WebEx ad hoc to any TelePresence call using the Cisco TelePresence Touch interface.

Cisco said that the TelePresence platform can support 1080p, 60 frames per second (fps) while data sharing capabilities support 1080p 30 fps.

TelePresence TX9000 provides interoperability support for SIP, BFCP, H.264 and Telepresence Interoperability Protocol (TIP) and also reduces the cost of ownership and ease of set up, said the company.
