Nokia Oy says that its NMT 450 cellular network, delivered to Uzdunrobita JV (jointly owned by Uzbekistan’s Communications Ministry and US firm International Communications Group) is in commercial operation: the NMT 450 network is looking for 60,000 users in five years, and is claimed to be the first to cellular telephone system go live in the Commonwealth of Independent States outside Russia.
