Fremont, California-based Cirrus Logic Inc is increasing its investment in the MiCrus chip fabrication joint venture that took over spare IBM Corp chip-making capacity in New York State, tossing another $60m into the pot; IBM will match Cirrus Logic’s investment, which is to expand chip capacity at the MiCrus wafer fabrication plant in East Fishkill.
