CIRRUS HAS SUB $1,000 ARCHITECTURE FOR MULTIMEDIA PCS

Cirrus Logic Inc has introduced a sub $1,000 system architecture aimed at multimedia PCs and PC-based consumer application appliances, including Digital Video Disk support and VGA to TV encoders using its proprietary IntelliFilter technology. And Cyrix Corp was showing its own BCOM WinNET reference design using the MediaGX processor, aimed at a $500 prices point for managed PC manufacturers, including integrated 10/100Mbps PCI Ethernet network interface and a set of remote management software.
