Retailers generally had an upbeat message, and Richard Sharp, president of electronic equipment retailer Circuit City Stores Inc, warned the conference that sales growth in the second half will be slightly slower than the strong growth posted in the first half of the year because of the weak California economy and other factors; Sharp, who did not provide specific mumbers, said that overall growth remains mainly strong in major markets US-wide, adding that the retailer remains on trend to post growth in the 20% to 25% range for the year.
