Cipher Data Products Inc, San Diego, has announced that it will have to reduce its workforce by 11% over the next two quarters. It says the cut comes as a result of its two-year program to become the global leader in low-cost, high-quality removable data storage equipment. The 220 employees to go will come mainly from the firm’s San Diego and Singapore manufacturing plants.
