Cipher Data Products Inc, San Diego has filed a second preliminary injunction motion against Archive Corp, Costa Mesa relating to the manufacture and sale of quarter-inch cartridge tape drives in the 5.25 form factor covered by the Cipher patents: its original request for an injunction filed in September, was denied by the court. Still trying to avoid onerous trade sanctions, the Japanese Government says that it is prepared to allocate more money for purchases of US supercomputers and other products by universities and government agencies, outgoing prime minister Noboru Takeshita said on Monday.
