Cincom Systems Inc’s Netmaster II is identified as the only network management program that is giving IBM’s release 2 of Netview any serious competition and the company is hoping to pull the same trick in Japan, where the program runs on Fujitsu Facom M-360 mainframes as well as IBM 370-type machine: Netmaster is designed to manage large networks automatically, has basic security functions and an easy-to-use Network Control Language as wwell as four optional extensions including Easinet, to give the status of the whole network on one screen, and a File Transfer System – all of which has them cheering all the way from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Swan River via Ayres Rock, because Netmaster was originally developed in Australia.
