Companies majoring on IBM mainframe software products are increasingly seeking to get their offerings supported on the IBM like mainframes built in Japan, and the latest is Cincom Systems Inc, Cincinnati, which has signed with Fujitsu Ltd to develop versions of the Supra relational database management system, Mantis applications development product, and Net/Master network management program to run under Fujitsu operating systems. The agreement covers Japan, where Fujitsu reckons that it has over 35% of the mainframe market against 11% for IBM Japan; and the Australian, New Zealand and Hong Kong markets.
