CINCINNATI MILACRON TO SELL ROBOTS ARM TO ABB ROBOTICS

Increasing Asea Brown Boveri AG’s dominance of the non-Japanese-owned robotics industry, the Swedo-Swiss company’s ABB Robotics Inc subsidiary has signed a letter of intent to acquire the heavy robots business Cincinnati Milacron Inc on undisclosed terms. The unit, which contributed sales of about $80m to the Cincinnati, Ohio-based machine tools company’s turnover last fiscal and is losing money, is expected to be rationalised by ABB Robotics.
