Cignex Technologies, a provider of commercial open source offerings, and AGS Technology Group, a provider of ERP services, have merged to form an entity known as Cignex Holding Corp.(Cignex). Jeff Colvin, CEO and co- founder of AGS is appointed as the CEO of Cignex.

Cignex has over 10 years experience in open source consulting, providing offerings across web content management, portals, eCommerce, digital asset management, documents and record management, business process management and SOA.

In addition to alliances with RedHat and JBOSS, Cignex is a Platinum Alfresco partner and platinum level partner of Liferay as well as Gold partner of Pentaho and Silver partner of Intalio.

AGS has over 20 years experience in ERP consulting, providing implementation, integration, migration, optimisation, maintenance and support services, both in the US and abroad.

The company said that the merged entity Cignex Holding will focus on integrating open source offerings with existing line of business offerings and managing the contradictory demands of reducing IT spend while rolling out new offerings.
