The Custom Benefit Builder was designed to give employers more choice and an easier way to build customized health benefit plans to fit their individual healthcare and financial needs.

The online tool uses a step-by-step process that allows consumers to build their own benefits package. The software features decision support tools and the ability to personalize copayment and coinsurance levels, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums. As these choices are made, it automatically calculates plan cost and then allows the consumer to enroll for benefits, all using one integrated online application.

Currently only available to large employers, Cigna says the software will soon be available to Texas customers with 1,000 or more employees.

Consumerism is changing the way healthcare is delivered nationally and in Texas, said David Toomey, president for Cigna HealthCare of Texas. We are excited that we can now offer our customers more choice and flexibility and give consumers the ability to personalize their healthcare benefits to meet their needs and budget.
