The folks down at Hursley are going to be busy – CICS is to be implemented not only for AIX but also for OS/400, and IBM says it now accepts the need for CICS on other vendors’ machines: one reason for that will be that there are a handful of CICS emulators kicking around already and it has to be better from IBM’s point of view if people that want it run IBM licensed code on their machines than something for which IBM gets zilch.
