Global Crossing has won a competitive bid to help Ciber start up its main data center in Amsterdam and to use this center for the hosting of all the critical equipment and applications on behalf of Ciber’s end-user managed service solutions.
The new strategic direction for Ciber NL focuses on delivery and maintenance of a total set of managed services for specific target customers. In order to set up a completely standardized environment, Ciber selected different vendors and developed a total managed services portfolio, which simplifies doing business with the company. As a continuously growing company, Ciber is expanding its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) managed services business and plans to open a second data center in Amsterdam for active solutions and real-time disaster and recovery purposes.
Anthony Christie, managing director, EMEA, Global Crossing said: This major contract win with Ciber clearly demonstrates our growing presence in the European market and our ability to provide the company with a robust ICT managed services portfolio and deliver integrated network and housing solutions.
He continued: Our mission is to ensure that we deliver to companies such as Ciber the superior services required and the building blocks to offer converged managed services in what is a fast and dynamic market.
