Ciber has opened a new technology center Detroit Global Solutions Center (GSC), in Southfield, Mich, to serve its clients in Michigan and across the US.

The company has also announced plans to invest more than $8m in this facility over the next seven years and has hired 150 information technology professionals to join its new facility.

The IT services and management consulting company said that it is looking to add 700 plus jobs in the future.

The enterprise said that the new jobs are the direct result of a partnership between The State of Michigan, The City of Southfield and Ciber, responding to needs of clients who want expert consulting services.

Ciber CEO David Peterschmidt said that this center will serve clients not only in Michigan but across the US, and potentially around the world.

"These are sophisticated jobs, requiring employees with a deep knowledge of specific technologies and business acumen," Peterschmidt said.

"With the type of industries historically present here in Detroit, there is a deep base of talent that we are able to tap into."
