As part of its enterprise services-oriented architecture strategy, Church Mutual plans to externalize product data and rules in ProductAuthority’s central repository where they will be configured, for each product, as a full product specification document.
These documents will be easy to access and re-use and will virtually eliminate the risk that business users and IT could be working from different versions of a product specification when developing products, Camilion claims.
Church Mutual has also licensed IBM’s Insurance Application Architecture (IAA) model, which provides product definition templates based on insurance best practices, to accelerate the modeling of products. ProductAuthority supports the IAA model, enabling Church Mutual to further streamline the compilation of its product specification documents.
