CHIPSOFT SUFFERS WITH THE SEASONS

If ChipSoft Inc’s tax preparation software is such a hot property, why are its sales so tiny and why is it making such big losses (figures, page seven): simple – the company is in one of the most seasonal markets there is, so that while revenues and net profit are substantial in the second and third quarters of each fiscal year, negligible revenues are earned during the first and fourth fiscal quarters in the off-tax season, resulting in big operating losses.
