Irvine, California-headquartered Sync Research Inc announced a joint technology agreement with Southborough, Massachusetts-based Chipcom Corp, under which Chipcom will integrate Sync Systems Network Architecture internetworking technology – including the QLLC Qualified Logical Link Control SNA/SDLC to X25 HDLC Conversion Node – into its intelligent switching hubs. Chipcom will use Sync software to develop a module enabling legacy IBM devices, primarily SNA equipment, to communicate with internetworked local networks. The module will be available for Chipcom’s ONline intelligent hubs and for ONcore, its Asynchronous Transfer Mode-ready hub family. Products are expected later this year; no pricing as yet.
