CHIPCOM REVEALS NETWORK LICENSING AGREEMENTS

Southborough, Massachusetts-based Chipcom Corp used Networld+InterOp to announce to agreements in the area of network management. Firstly, it is to license Alburquerque-based Epilogue Technology Corp’s SNMP implementation and its Emissary Management Interface Base compiler, with the aim of providing SNMP version 2 support on its line of switching hubs. Chipcom says the source code will be incorporated as agent support on its ONdemand Network Control System management software. The company also said it has signed a joint technology agreement with Newton, Massachusetts-based Axon Networks Inc under which the two will co-develop RMON hardware and software products: Chipcom says that it will integrate Axon’s RMON technology in its switching hubs, and will also offer Axon’s LANservent Manager Statistics Management Module and Packet Decode Module applications as part of its ONdemand network management system.
