Southborough, Massachusetts-based Chipcom Corp has signed a technology agreement with the Network Test Division of Hewlett-Packard Co. They will co-develop configuration management and control applications for Chipcom’s intelligent switching hubs. Specifically, Chipcom plans to integrate Hewlett-Packard’s NetMetrix Internetwork Monitor into its ONdemand application family while its third-party distribution channels will also have access to other NetMetrix products. It will also produce an enhanced version of Netmetrix Internetwork Monitor – where Hewlett-Packard will collaborate – which is intended to provide knowledge-based modelling and performance analysis capabilities for the Chipcom hubs: enabling network managers to reassign users and reconfigure networks dynamically, using Chicom’s switching technology. There is no date as yet for the completion of the developments.
