Despite missing out on the big one, which went to Unix System Laboratories Inc with Unix System V.4.2, Microsoft Corp has won a consolation prize in China with the signing of a licence agreement with a consortium of Chinese personal computer manufacturers: MS-DOS is to be installed on Chinese machines for domestic sale for the first time.
