The China Securities Regulatory Commission is to put in a computer system to disseminate facts and data about companies traded on China’s stock markets because no commercial enterprises have emerged in China so far that could undertake the task: according to Reuter, China last month clamped tough controls on all forms of stock-market information services, covering everything from radio and television broadcasts to beeper services and computer databases, in an effort to stamp out rumours and speculation that turned the Shanghai exchange into a roller-coaster.
