CHINA SET AS MAJOR RECIPIENT OF PERSONAL COMPUTERS

China could become the world’s largest personal computer market later on this decade, Philip Wong, AST Research Inc’s Asia-Pacific managing director, told Agence France-Presse: he reckons that there are over 500,000 personal computers now installed in China and that rapid growth will continue into 2000, with private companies the new wave of personal computer users there.
