The Chinese government has stared into the abyss of trade sanctions on $2,000m of exports to the US and has pulled back from the brink. It said yesterday that it had revoked the licenses of two compact disk manufacturers, the Guangdong Chaoyang Jinfa Laser Technology Co and the Zhongshan Yisheng Laser Manufacturing Co, for piracy and for disseminating pornography; each was fined $24,000. Officials earlier closed two production lines at the Jindie Science & Technology Development Co in Guilin for piracy.
