CHINA ADMITS IT’S “WAY BEHIND” ON YEAR 2000 BUG

By CBR Staff Writer

Wu Jichuan, head of China’s Ministry of Information Industry, says Chinese companies and government agencies must take more aggressive steps against the millennium bug. Weak management, a lack of coordination, and insufficient funding all have combined to place these sectors and departments way behind schedule, he said.
