China added 18 million digital telephone lines to its telecommunication system in 1995, Vice-Premier Zhu Rongji said at a meeting of business leaders in Jakarta. Responding to a question on how open the Chinese telecommunications market was, Zhu said the sector was not closed as all major manufacturers in the world were represented in it.
