Bill Gates will be inviting the chief executives – and only the chief executives – of 100 of the world’s top companies to a two- and-a-half-day technology summit to be held between May 7 and 9 at the Seattle Four Seasons Hotel, reports ClieNT Server News. If his new $50m house is ready, as it’s supposed to be by then, they’ll have dinner there. Forbes Magazine is co-hosting, and former presidential hopeful Steve Forbes will drop by. For a novelty, the event will focus on business issues such as how to co-ordinate technical standards, and not on Microsoft products. Of those invited, 30 to 40% are expected to be from outside the US, and in order to get maximum bang for their buck, the guest list will be publicized as RSVPs come in. Microsoft Corp and Forbes will provide security.
