Roslyn Heights, New York-based Cheyenne Software Inc and Tucson, Arizona company Artisoft Inc formed a strategic partnership to provide data management services for Artisoft’s LANtastic line of operating system products. The relationship will encompass certification and co-marketing of existing product offerings from each vendor, say the firms. The first fruit of the partnership involves Cheyenne’s ARCsolo for Windows product, which provides storage management capabilities for workgroups and stand-alone personal computers; this has now been certified by Artisoft as compatible with its LANtastic peer-to-peer operating system, and will also provide support for Artisoft’s entry-level product, Simply LANtastic. As part of the deal, the companies have also entered a technical alliance intended to deliver a native data management application for Artisoft’s dedicated server product, which will be developed by Cheyenne. In a separate announcement, Cheyenne revealed that Novell Labs has certified its ARCserve 5.01 back-up and recovery offering for NetWare 3.x and 4.x environments.
