Cheyenne Software Inc, Roslyn, New York developer of the ARCserve storage management product FAXserve server-based facsimile services product, is diversifying with the acquisition of Applied Programming Technologies Inc, a designer of document imaging and object storage technology in Lake Success, New York. The price paid is 95,238 Cheyenne shares, worth some $2.6m, plus the assumption of some debts. Applied Programming is the developer of NOSS, a Network Object Storage Subsystem used to meet the high capacity storage demands local and wide area networks. It also markets software engineering tools designed to assist in the development of object-oriented imaging applications that run under Windows 3.
