By CBR Staff Writer

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd yesterday announced the acquisition of IP address management software company, MetaInfo Inc in a share swap deal valued at around $22m. The firewall security company Check Point says it will eventually use MetaInfo’s IP address management software – which maintains the association between user names, dynamically-allocated IP addresses and DNS names – in its Enterprise Infrastructure Management products. However, it will begin to sell MetaInfo products immediately. The deal will see Check Point issue 683,200 of its shares in exchange for the company. Check Point closed the day up 1.24% at $40.076.
