Check Point Software Technologies Ltd, Jerusalem, Israel, will this week release version 3.0 of its FireWall-1. New this time are such things as integrated anti-virus capabilities, Java security, Uniform Resource Locator screening. It also has somet hing called Content Vectoring Protocol which enables third-parties to write plug-in content inspection modules with Check Point’s application programming interfaces. It has support for this from the likes of Symantec Corp, Cheyenne Software Inc, McA fee Associates Inc and Integralis Inc.
