More frequently, world-class financial service institutions are turning to Microsoft for core e-business and customer-facing applications, said Bill Hartnett, global director of Financial Services at Microsoft in a company statement. Chase set a high bar for scalability, security, reliability and cost-effectiveness in this engagement, but these demanding standards were easily met by the Microsoft Windows 2000 platform and related e-business product and component services.

Microsoft products included in the solution with Chase Manhattan are Windows 2000 Advanced Server and SQL Server 2000. In addition, Microsoft Consulting Services will specify and configure the solution; Microsoft Product Support Services will provide continuous availability; and Corillian will provide Voyager, an Internet banking platform.

We believe that the Corillian and Microsoft combination provides a reliable and scalable solution that will give us the flexibility to add different products and services to the platform, without having to make an additional investment in infrastructure, said Bruce Zimmerman, senior vice president at Chase. Corillian leads the Internet retail banking space, and its track record was a key factor in our selecting it as a solution provider. We are looking forward to getting started on the next phase of our Internet banking service.

Corillian Voyager has the comprehensive functionality and cost-effective flexibility that banks need to conduct business on the Web, said Ted Spooner, president and CEO of Corillian. As the demand for online banking capabilities increases, financial service providers need high-performance Internet solutions that will meet their infrastructure needs — and that’s what this relationship delivers.
